Study in Canada Virtual University Info Sessions - 27th October

Greetings from Toronto!

I hope you’re having a lovely day.

I have two important updates today – one from my team at York University, and the other from my colleagues hosting the upcoming Study in Canada Virtual University Info Sessions on October 18, 20, and 27.

  1. The (wonderful) person who will be covering my position for the next 12 months while I’m on secondment at the Schulich School of Business has been hired!  I’m very happy to let you know that an all-star member of the York University family, Ms. Sunera Ali will be taking over my role as Regional Recruitment Manager of the Middle East & Turkey on October 25th.  I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with Sunera over the past several years and she will be a huge help to you and your students.  Once she begins in her role I’ll send a more formal e-introduction, and her contact e-mail address. 😊

  1. I am sending this message on behalf of my Canadian university colleagues who are hosting the upcoming Study in Canada University Info Sessions for students in the Middle East & Turkey taking place on October 18, 20, and 27.

Back by popular demand!  We had over 700 students attend these 3 events last year, and I’m sure the sessions will be worthwhile to anyone considering Canada for their university studies.

You’re welcome to join the session yourself, and we’d love it if you could share this information with any of your students who may be interested in studying in Canada (if you haven’t done so already).

*If there are any follow-up questions about the event please contact one of the university representatives who is participating in the session.  Their contact information can be found at the events landing page.  I will not be at the event, but will be there in spirit.

Application Support

Careers Education and Guidance

We help them figure out who they are and what they want out of education, career, and life.

Students have individual sessions where a personal analysis of their ideas, feelings and choices is done. These sessions helps us to assess their interests and abilities. Students are made aware of the new and diverse career options available to get a great start in their professional lives.

These sessions empower the students to have a deeper perspective and a sense of career self-awareness. It provides essential support and boosts the morale of a student and builds their motivational level.

In addition to this students are also guided through the application process and to determine next steps related to admission process.

A new career corner has been added to the schools website. Any information related to careers will be uploaded on this corner. It will keep our students and their parents well informed about any career related activities.

Career news is published on a monthly basis and provides information about the career related events such as education fairs, seminars, talks and deadlines for sending various application forms to universities. The needs of the students are catered through various career related activities such as workshops, guest lectures and interviews. These activities are conducted with an intention of creating a motivated environment whereby the students are encouraged to plan their future carefully.

Through the career counselling service the students are motivated to be focused on improving their academic performance and developing their strengths. This service emphasizes on preparing the students to anticipate challenges and plan ahead to face these challenges with confidence and a balanced composure.
